Dia de los Muertos Celebration at Marquette

Join us for a celebration of Day of the Dead at Marquette Park Cultural Center! Dia de los Muertos/ Day of the Dead is a community celebration honoring and celebrating the lives of loved ones that have passed away. Featuring a Marquette Park community ofrenda and exhibition from Anchor Curatorial Artist in Residence, Carlos Flores. Performances from Mexican Folkloric Dance, and the Marquette Park Composers Workshops. Food, games, and community resources with La Casa Norte for the whole family! Please join us on Mondays from 5-7pm throughout October leading up to the event for family art workshops exploring the themes of Dia de los Muertos. #ChicagoHalloweek

Halloweek On the Block in Altgeld Gardens

We are hosting a Day of the Dead Pumpkin Decorating Contest! Kids can swing by the park to pick up a pumpkin starting Oct 25th ? Oct 30th. Have a blast at home and turn your pumpkin into something special.Bring your super cool Day of the Dead themed Pumpkin back to the park on Nov 1st at 4:30 pm to be entered.Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place for each age group. Calling all goblins and ghouls! Get in the Halloween spirit at one of our FREE Trick or Tunes Sensory & Family-Friendly Concerts. Hear Merit's Wind Symphony play all your frightening favorites!

Experience a sensory-friendly concert where the audience is encouraged to move and groove to the music, make noise, take breaks, clap along, and more. Earplugs, earmuffs, and fidget toys will be available.

Northalsted Halloween Parade

Join us for the 26th annual Haunted Halsted Halloween Parade, October 31st, 2023. Harvest Festival

Harvest festival is an event held at the ark every Halloween for the community. Last year around 1000 people were served with candy bags, prizes etc. the event is usually a 2 hour event held throughout the whole building. The gym is where the bouncy houses and various minute to win it games are held for the younger kids around 4-7 years old. The dojo is used for facepainting for all ages. Our biggest room the Noah room we use for multiple games such as connect 4 , twister , uno, jenga and more. The event is a chance for the ark to reach out to the community to promote our programs and get to know some of the parents. Before the event ends all kids will receive a candy bag for their participation in the event.
